A Day at the Denver Botanic Gardens

A couple of weeks ago on my birthday, Fuzzers said he’d take me to the Denver Botanic Gardens for a birthday present. On Saturday, we finally got around to it.

It was among the most beautiful places I’ve ever been on earth. Oh my goodness. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. Lord knows I took waaaaay too many of them.

What was the highlight of your weekend?

How breathtaking! You have a gift with nature photography, my friend. The orange and yellowy red waterlilies (??) look like something from a fairy tale.

Ahhhhh. Swoon. Nature and natural beauty is kind of the best medicine, isn’t it?

The Botanic Gardens are quite wonderful. I have fairly fond memories of it as it was where I went for my first date with my former girlfriend. Was early April, so things were just starting to bloom, I’d think May would be the best time to go – but who knows with Colorado’s wonky weather. It was a pretty good experience, despite both of us being in truly horrible condition. I was very sick, bad fever, but didn’t want to “wimp out” of a first date. She was loaded up on antidepressants she’d just been prescribed, so only marginally coherent. Wasn’t supposed to be away from her parents supervision in that condition, but they decided it was alright if she was with me – amazingly trusting of a guy they’d never met. I should go there again when I’m in better condition, and during a more spectacular time of year.

  4. I love to visit botanic gardens. It is like living in nature. Seeing beautiful flowers and unknown plants refresh our mind. Nice post with awesome photographs.

  5. A day in nature – well, even if man-made/created nature – with a loved one is the best kind of gift. What a beautiful place. Also: I get picture-taking crazy around flowers, too. No surprise my laptop eventually had to run out of storage space ;).

So beautiful! I think I need to go here the next time I’m in Colorado. Such an incredible variety of flowers!

    These are fantastic!
Getting outdoors can do wonders in my opinion. Looks like the weather was perfect for picture taking and flower gazing.
